ARTIST BIO

Since the 1990s, Jaye Moon has been crafting interactive Braille paintings using Lego bricks. Leveraging the diverse colors and shapes of Lego pieces, Moon transcends the traditional boundaries of visual art by exploring the intricate relationship between touch and sight and creates a tactile abstract work.

Jaye Moon (b. 1963) holds an MFA in Sculpture from the Pratt Institute in New York. Her selected exhibitions include the Nam June Paik Art Center, the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art in Korea, and the Queens Museum in New York. Moon received a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Artist Fellowship, and an AHL Foundation Grant. Moon has participated in Nars Foundation and Fountainhead Residency in the US Popnami! Residency in Munich and CJ Art Studio Residency in Cheongju, Korea. Moon’s exhibitions were featured in Whitehot Magazine, Art in America, and Artforum. Jaye Moon is represented by Jennifer Baahng Gallery.
